The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists is pleased to see three Fellows amongst the recent recipients of new research grants from the Australian Government. To date, the 2017 NHMRC Grant Application Round has resulted in the commitment of more than $271 million to fund health and medical research including 401 new grants to universities, medical research institutions and hospitals across Australia.
Congratulations to the following RANZCP Fellows:
- A/Pr Gail Robinson (QLD) Early diagnosis and intervention for dementia
- Dr Brian O'Donoghue (VIC) Improving physical health outcomes for young people with psychotic disorders
- Prof Ian Hickie (NSW) Optimising Personalised Care, at scale, for Young People with Emerging Mood Disorders
The RANZCP believes that research into the causes of and treatments for mental health disorders is an essential part of improving outcomes for those affected by mental illness, and also provides support in the form of research grants and information.
