Section of Child and Adolescent Forensic Psychiatry

The RANZCP Section of Child and Adolescent Forensic Psychiatry (SCAFP) promotes practice, training and research pertaining to child and adolescent forensic psychiatry.

The Regulations [PDF; 85 KB] of the SCAFP outline the purpose and responsibilities of the bi-national Section.

Child and adolescent forensic psychiatry

Child and adolescent forensic psychiatry focuses on the mental health and wellbeing of children, adolescents and families interacting with civil or criminal legal systems.

Aims

This Section aims to:

  • promote the objectives of the College relating to child and adolescent forensic psychiatry
  • advise on training in child and adolescent forensic psychiatry
  • advance and disseminate research in child and adolescent forensic psychiatry
  • contribute to and promote the highest standards of clinical practice.
