Awards and grants

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) regularly presents awards and grants to Fellows, trainees, and individuals and organisations outside the College.

The awards and grants:

  • acknowledge noteworthy contributions to psychiatry, the community, and the College
  • recognise excellence in psychiatric training and research
  • promote and encourage the development of psychiatry within Australia, New Zealand and the Asia–Pacific region.


RANZCP awards
To recognise contributions to the College, and achievements in psychiatric training, practice and research. 

Faculty and Section awards
To recognise excellence in the subspecialties of psychiatry.

Australian Branch and New Zealand National awards
To acknowledge the achievements of trainees, medical students and Fellows in each Australian state and New Zealand.

Scholarly Project Grants for trainees in an STP or IRTP post
Grants to access tutorage for assistance for a specific aspect of the Scholarly Project.

Research grants
To encourage and support psychiatric research.

For best practice in consumer and carer inclusion.

Exam Preparation grants for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees
Grants up to $3,000 to access an exam preparation workshop in 2019 and 2020.

Honour board
Past recipients of the RANZCP and Faculty and Section awards.

Honorary Fellowship
Recognises contributions to psychiatry or the College by those who do not otherwise qualify for Fellowship.
