Dr Tom Russ will share perspectives on older persons' mental health services from Edinburgh, Scotland providing insights into the similarities, differences, challenges and opportunities from communities a hemisphere away. He will also talk about his research from Edinburgh University where he leads the Alzheimer's Research Centre and is co-lead of an emerging research centre, titled, DEPTH (Dementia Equity: Repositioning Humanity) that will draw together, researchers, clinicians and people with dementia as partners in examining issues of stigma, equity, taboo, technology, spirituality and philosophy in relation to dementia.

Dr Tom Russ

Dr Tom Russ is an academic and clinical old age psychiatrist. He is Reader in old age psychiatry at Edinburgh University, where he is Director of the Alzheimer's Research Centre. He also holds ongoing clinical appointment in the Scottish NHS, working across inpatient and community older persons' mental health services.
