Greetings to you all. To the many iwi/nations, the many faces of the many canoes/peoples, to those who have travelled from afar, to the four winds. Listen to this call to you all, for the purpose for which we assemble, come, come, and be welcome.
On behalf of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, we warmly invite you to join us at the 2023 NZ Conference, to be held at the Energy Events Centre (EEC), Rotorua, New Zealand, September 11-13, 2023.
Rotorua lies three hours south of Auckland, one hour west of Tauranga, one and a half hours southeast of Hamilton, and one hour north of Taupō and the central plateau. Te Rotorua-nui-a-Kahumatamomoe, Lake Rotorua from which Rotorua takes its name, forms the Kaituna River that flows out to sea at Maketū, the landing place of the Te Arawa Waka. The first peoples arrived and moved inland and up and down the coast forming the confederation of Te Arawa which is extensive. Here in Rotorua you enter the heart of Te Arawa, epitomised by stunning geothermal landscape, the aroma of sulphur, beautiful lakes and rivers, tree-bedecked mountains, home of carving and performing arts of Te Ao Māori. Since the early 1800’s Europeans have travelled to Rotorua to see the bubbling mud pools, the geysers, the people, and the life therein. Come and avail yourself of the magic of this land.
We hope to see your many faces, to greet you, to welcome you to this meeting place of the many waters and lands, a place of healing and rejuvenation.
The call for pre and post conference workshops and abstract submissions will open in early 2023, followed by registration opening in May. You can stay updated by checking our website, to express your interest in receiving more details on the conference, please click the button below.
We look forward to seeing you in Rotorua for the RANZCP 2023 NZ Conference
