The Vietnamese Psychiatric Association and the National Institute of Mental Health, Vietnam in collaboration with the RANZCPDelivery
In-personThe conference will feature the dual themes of “Changing awareness of mental health care, and An update of knowledge and experience in mental health care for children & adolescents”.
It builds on three previous conferences between our Vietnamese colleagues and RANZCP members in 1996, 2001 & 2012.
The meeting will be held in Hanoi, at the National Institute of Mental Health Vietnam.
Australian and New Zealand psychiatrists and trainees are welcome to attend as delegates only, or to contribute presentations to the scientific program. Presentations from a range of different specialised areas in psychiatry will be welcomed.
The conference organisers have specifically requested input on “how to develop and sustain comprehensive and relevant systems of mental health care”, with a focus on psychotherapy updates, neurostimulation treatment innovations, to balance their current emphasis on psychopharmacology.
In the child and adolescent psychiatry realm, they have requested input on “autism spectrum, learning disorders, social media impacts on child and adolescent mental health, AI in diagnostics and management of children and adolescents among specific environments as school, kindergarten and local community.”
Presentations on other topics that might be of interest to Vietnamese and Australian / New Zealand clinicians could also be considered for inclusion in the program.
Individual presenters will be responsible for their conference registration, travel and accommodation costs. To support the meeting, a conference registration fee of A$750 will charged for RANZCP Fellows, with a $250 fee for retired Fellows, Trainees or Allied Health colleagues.
In addition to the 2-day scientific meeting (October 4-5), it is proposed to arrange some site visits to local facilities the day after (October 6).
It will be quite a pleasant time of the year to spend before or after the meeting to visit local attractions in and around Hanoi. Accommodation and travel to Vietnam is relatively easy to arrange through local tourist agencies and is modestly priced.
