Event information

We are excited to announce that this year's APT SA Symposium 2024 will take place on Friday, April 19th from 8:30am at RANZCP SA Branch Headquarters.

Our theme this year is 'Novel Treatments in Psychiatry'. Psychiatrists from both SA and QLD have volunteered their time to discuss emerging treatment modalities such as EMDR, TMS and Medicinal Cannabis, for your academic and clinical interest.

Following the Academic Program will be the APT SA AGM, including the election of new Office Bearers.

The day will be fully catered, and concluded with an evening meal at nearby Hispanic Mechanic restaurant on Glen Osmond Rd. Even if you are unable to attend the Symposium during the day, you are still invited to attend the dinner.

Traditionally the Symposium is conducted in lieu of your training afternoon that week, under the good grace of your LHN Directors of Training and Clinical Directors. All trainees are welcome to attend and do not have to take a professional development (PD) leave day to attend. If trainees choose not to attend the Symposium, they are expected to attend their regular workplace on Friday 19 April.

A more detailed programme will follow.

Cancellation Policy

As this is a free event there will be no refunds, however, if you are planning on not attending, please let us know.

If you are feeling unwell or have cold or flu like symptoms, or who may have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, do not attend.

Parking: There is very limited parking onsite. Suggested alternative sites to park: Glenside Campus and surrounding streets (noting 2 hour parking limits in place)
