The event was jointly hosted by the RANZCP's Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age and the International Psychogeriatric Association.

Over 1040 delegates converged on Hobart’s scenic harbour for the RANZCP’s 47th annual Congress from 20–24 May 2012 at the Grand Chancellor Hotel. With a theme of ‘Cells, Circuits and Syndromes’, the Congress covered mental health across the ages from birth to old age and across specialties, disorders and cultures.

The inaugural Symposium on Youth Mental Health was held in Melbourne on Saturday 18 February and was hosted by the College’s newly formed Special Interest Group in Youth Mental Health.

 

New Zealand Conference 2011
The RANZCP New Zealand Conference was held from 28–30 September 2011 at the Millenium and Copthorne Hotels in Queenstown. The theme of the conference was 'Psychiatry in the field – cultivating and diversifying our expertise?'.

The RANZCP Section of Psychotherapy Conference was held at the Sebel Albert Park Hotel in Melbourne from 22–24 July 2011, with a theme of "Loosening the Gordian Knot: Psychotherapy with the difficult patient".

Almost 1000 delegates attended the first ever RANZCP Congress to be held in Darwin which took place from 29 May – 2 June 2011.  With a theme of 'Close relations', particular focus was placed on emergent issues relevant to northern Australia, such as Indigenous mental health and psychiatric issues relevant to south east Asia and the Pacific.

The Inaugural Medicine in Addiction conference, held in Melbourne from 18–20 March 2011, focused on providing delegates with an insight into the problem of addiction and dependency in a range of clinical settings. The event was co-hosted by the RANZCP's Section of Addiction Psychiatry and The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

Close to 150 delegates came together over two and a half days at the University of Tasmania to discuss developments in old age psychiatry. Topics tackled included anxiety, depression, dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

The RANZCP Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's Annual Meeting was held in the Barossa Valley, South Australia from 7–10 October 2010. The conference theme, 'Tracking Trajectories – influences on developmental pathways from infancy to whatever!', was keenly embraced by keynote speakers and delegates alike.

The meeting’s theme was 'Mental Health and Ageing: Preparing for Our Future', to emphasise the need for members of all disciplines to work together to provide high quality medical, psychological, social and spiritual support to older people with complex mental and physical problems.

 

New Zealand Conference 2008
RANZCP’s 2008 New Zealand Conference – 'Keeping Real Life in Mind' – provided the opportunity for NZ Fellows, affiliates, trainees and others to come together in Nelson.

 

Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Conference 2008
The annual conference of the RANZCP Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry was held in Port Douglas on 12–16 October 2008.
