Victorian Branch Conference 2012
The third conference of the RANZCP Victorian Branch was held in Healesville in the Yarra Valley on the 1 and 2 December 2012. The organising committee was pleased to welcome more than twice the number of delegates from previous years.

New Zealand Branch Conference 2012
Building on the momentum of the primary care focus at the 2011 Queenstown conference, the 2012 New Zealand Branch conference expanded the theme of Integrated Care occurring across service and diagnostic boundaries, across primary, secondary and tertiary level care boundaries, and across the life span.
The RANZCP New Zealand Branch Conference 2012 was held from 19 to 21 September 2012 in Te Papa, Wellington.

International Psychogeriatric Association 2012 Meeting
The International Psychogeriatric Association International Meeting 2012 was held from 7 to 11 September 2012 at the Cairns Convention Centre in Cairns, Australia.
The event was jointly hosted by The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists’ Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age and the International Psychogeriatric Association.

Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Bi-National Conference 2012 
Held in Sydney on 3–5 October 2012, with the theme 'to infinity and beyond' – stimulating delegates to think outside the square, and showcasing international speakers who push the boundaries of our current knowledge in child and adolescent psychiatry. Notable speakers were Philip Shaw, Richard Williams, Andrea Landini, Julio Licinio and Hinemoa Elder.

RANZCP 2012 Congress

Over 1040 delegates converged on Hobart’s scenic harbour for the RANZCP’s 47th annual Congress from 20 to 24 May 2012 at the Grand Chancellor Hotel. With a theme of ‘Cells, Circuits and Syndromes’, the Congress covered mental health across the ages from birth to old age and across specialties, disorders and cultures.

Internationally eminent keynote speakers presented on a diverse range of mental health issues.

The RANZCP Special Interest Group in Youth Mental Health - Inaugural Symposium on Youth Mental Health

The inaugural Symposium on Youth Mental Health was held in Melbourne on Saturday 18 February. Hosted by the College’s newly formed Special Interest Group in Youth Mental Health, the day provided a valuable opportunity for Fellows and trainees with an interest in youth mental health to meet colleagues, hear presentations from a range of experts, and discuss current issues in an open forum.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists’ New Zealand Conference 2011

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists’ New Zealand Conference was held from 28 to 30 September 2011 at the Millenium and Copthorne Hotels in Queenstown. The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Section of Psychotherapy Conference

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Section of Psychotherapy Conference was held at the Sebel Albert Park Hotel in Melbourne from 22 to 24 July 2011, with a theme of "Loosening the Gordian Knot: Psychotherapy with the difficult patient." The conference was headlined by keynote presentations by Glen Gabbard, Professor of Psychiatry and Brown Foundation Chair of Psychoanalysis at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. RANZCP 2011 Congress

Almost 1000 delegates attended the first ever RANZCP Congress to be held in Darwin which took place from 29 May to 2 June 2011.

With a theme of 'Close relations', particular focus was placed on emergent issues relevant to northern Australia, such as indigenous mental health and psychiatric issues relevant to south east Asia and the Pacific. To view, click here.
 

Inaugural Medicine in Addiction conference 2011
RANZCP Section of Addiction Psychiatry

The Inaugural Medicine in Addiction conference, held in Melbourne from 18 to 20 of March 2011, focused on providing delegates with an insight into the problem of addiction and dependency in a range of clinical settings. Over 200 delegates attended the event which was co-hosted by The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Section of Addiction Psychiatry and The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). To view, click here.

 

RANZCP Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age Annual Scientific Meeting

Close to 150 delegates came together over two and a half days at the University of Tasmania to discuss developments in old age psychiatry. Topics tackled included anxiety, depression, dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

RANZCP Faculty of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry 2010 Annual Meeting

The RANZCP Faculty of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry 2010 Annual Meeting was held in the Barossa Valley, South Australia from 7 to 10 October 2010. The conference theme, “Tracking Trajectories – influences on developmental pathways from infancy to whatever!”, was keenly embraced by keynote speakers and delegates alike.
