About the event

Forensic psychiatry has the capacity to court controversy, often having to deal with conflicts both in the criminal and civil arenas. Opinions are frequently contested and can generate considerable emotion, both in the parties affected, as well as amongst the professionals involved. The convenors of the conference think that some sunshine may further our understanding of these complex issues.

Vancouver will provide a marvellous venue for airing these issues and the range of topics is limited only by the imagination of the participants and not by the convenors. We want to see robust discussion conducted in a collegiate fashion and invite speakers to liberally address the conference theme.

The academic program will include workshops, prominent keynotes and a breadth of presentations addressing the theme. A social program including the conference dinner has been arranged.

We would like to welcome all to what will be the convenors’ last foray into staging the provocative in RANZCP Faculty of Forensic Psychiatry conferences.
