Help with CPD claims

Below are instructions for Fellows and other RANZCP CPD participants to claim their CPD activities online.

You need a minimum of 50 hours of CPD for the calendar year, including:

  • a Professional Development Plan (PDP) (allocated a standard 5 hours)
  • at least 10 hours of Peer Review activities
  • at least 5 hours of Practice Improvement activities
  • at least 25 hours of Self-Guided Learning activities

In addition to these minimums, you need an extra 5 hours, which can be from any Peer Review, Practice Improvement or Self-Guided Learning activities.

You will need to claim your activities on the My CPD Claim page.

New Zealand participants will also need to complete an audit of medical practice.

  1. Log into the website. .Help with logging in to the website

  2. Select My RANZCP in the top right corner.

  3. Find the In this section menu – it will be at the left or the bottom of the page, depending on what device you’re using to view the website. Select the My CPD link.

Tip: Add the My CPD page to your bookmarks list, so you can access it again quickly.


  1. On the My CPD page, scroll down to the My Progress section.

  2. To check how you're going:

    • a tick in a green circle shows if you've completed the minimum requirements for that activity type

    • numbers in a circle show how many hours you've completed for that activity type (on top), plus the minimum number of hours required (on the bottom).

  1. On the My CPD page, scroll down to the My Progress section.

  2. If you've fulfilled all requirements, you will see green ticks against all 5 types of CPD activities.


  1. On the My CPD page, select the Add CPD Activity button.

  2. Choose the type of activity. If you're not sure which type you need, select a type and check the text underneath to see if it fits.

  3. Choose the category.

    • hours spent doing the activity

    • start and end date (must be today's date or earlier – you can only claim activities you have completed)

    • title of the activity

    • description of the activity

    • learning outcomes

    • optionally, you can also upload documents to support your claim.

  5. Select Save.

Your activity will now be in the My completed activities list. It will also appear in the My progress section, under the relevant activity type.

Once it's been created, you can edit the activity details at any time before the claim period ends.

Tip: You do not need to claim activities from Learnit, the RANZCP's e-learning system. These will be automatically added to your claim, and listed along with the other activities you've completed.


  1. On the My CPD page, scroll down to the My Progress section.

  2. Find the type of activity, and click the down arrow on the right.

  3. Find your activity, and select the edit icon on the right.

  4. Make your changes and select Save.

Tip: It's not possible to edit a Learnit activity.


  1. On the My CPD page, scroll down to the My Progress section.

  2. Find the type of activity, and click the down arrow on the right.

  3. Find your activity, and select the delete icon on the right.

  4. A confirmation message will appear. Select Delete.

Tip: it's not possible to delete a Learnit activity.


  1. On the My CPD page, select the Add CPD Activity button.
  2. Select Professional Development Plan.
  3. You can either:
    • create your PDP here using the Add PDP entry button to list planned CPD activities, and/or
    • create your PDP elsewhere (e.g. in Word) and upload as a Supporting document below.
  4. Select Save.

Once it's been created, you can edit your PDP at any time before the claim period ends. If you make a change to a document you've previously uploaded, you'll need to upload it again.


  1. On the My CPD page, scroll down to the My Progress section.

  2. Find Complete Professional Development Plan, and select the down arrow on the right.

  3. Select the Update PDP button.

  4. Make your changes and select Save.


Only peer review group coordinators can add peer review group activities. For peer review group coordinators, instructions are below.

  1. On the My CPD page, select the Add CPD Activity button.

  2. Select Peer Review, then 2.1 Peer Review Groups.

  3. Select the date of the meeting. A list of peer review groups will appear. 

  4. Select the name of your peer review group. A list of participants' names will appear.

  5. Untick participants who were not present at that meeting.

  6. Add in the length of the meeting (to the nearest half-hour).

  7. Select Save.

This will automatically add a claim for all participants who were present at that meeting.

Once it's created, you will need to contact the RANZCP to edit this activity.

  3. Find the In this section menu. It will be at the left or the bottom of the page, depending on what device you’re using to view the website. Select the My CPD link.

  4. Select the My CPD statements and certificates link.

  5. This will display a your CPD statement. Save the file to download it as a PDF.

Tip: For the report to download, your web browser must permit pop-ups. If a report doesn't appear when you click the above link, please update your web browser's ‘Pop-up Blocker' settings to allow pop-ups from www.ranzcp.org.
