EXEMPTION CANDIDATE EXAMINATION (ECE) PREPARATION WORKSHOP
The ECE Preparation Workshop is designed to assist exemption candidates prepare for the Exemption Candidate Examination (ECE). During the two-day workshop there will be presentations and discussion around examples of ‘achieves the standard’ M-OCI and M-OSCE and opportunities to actively participate in practice sessions with College Fellows. The Workshop is a mixture of didactic and interactive sessions, giving participants opportunity for discussion and to ask questions. Typical Workshop sessions include: Data Formulation and Gathering, Patient Management Plan, M-OSCE (viva and standard) video viewing and panel discussion and practice M-OSCE sessions.
There are two workshops conducted each year. In 2011, the first ECE Preparation Workshop is scheduled in Sydney on 11/12 March 2011 and the second one on 29/30 July 2011 in Melbourne. Dates and locations are correct at the time of publishing however the College reserves the right to alter these dates and/or locations, should this be required.
Candidates are reminded to make opportunities to be observed at clinical interviews by supervisors, mentors or consultants, as part of their personal examination preparation.
Applications for the July 2011 Workshop close on Friday, 20 May 2011. If you have not received an acknowledgment letter the following week, your application has not been received and you should contact the specialist IMG Education team for advice.
Please note that an ECE Preparation Workshop must be completed to be eligible to apply for the ECE.

RANZCP AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP
An Affiliate category of membership is available to Specialist International Medical Graduates who are working in either Australia or New Zealand, to provide a formal membership status within the College, as well as a greater range of services, representation, networking opportunities, education and other resources.

OVERSEAS TRAINED PSYCHIATRISTS' REPRESENTATIVE COMMITTEE
The OTP Committee is a bi-national, representative committee of Affiliate Members and Fellows which reports directly to General Council on key issues, and which promotes the interests of overseas-trained psychiatrists amongst the College membership, boards and committees. The committee is a representative body, and acts as a vehicle for Affiliate Member representation and participation in the College. It comprises a maximum of ten Affiliate Members or Fellows – one from each state or territory of Australia, and two from New Zealand.
