The Section of Neuropsychiatry was established to:
  • Promote the objects of the College (as stated in the Constitution) with particular reference to the discipline of Neuropsychiatry;
  • Promote the development of the clinical discipline of Neuropsychiatry within Australia and New Zealand;
  • Promote high-quality training and teaching within the discipline of Neuropsychiatry;
  • Promote educational activities within the area of Neuropsychiatry at regional Branch and binational levels;
  • Promote and facilitate research in the discipline of Neuropsychiatry;
  • Assist the College in preparation of position statements and any other material relevant to the practice of Neuropsychiatry;
  • Facilitate links with other Neuropsychiatry bodies at an international level, for example the International Neuropsychiatric Association;
  • Facilitate awareness of Neuropsychiatry and topics of relevance to the general community.
