Overseas Trained Specialist Specified Training PDF Print E-mail

Overseas Trained Specialist Specified Training (SST) endorsement allows specialist International Medical Graduates (IMGs) or IMGs in the final two years of their specialist training to undertake supervised workplace-based training in Australia with a view to enhancing the individual's level of practical skill in a particular area of expertise. Applicants are required to return to their country of origin to resume and complete their training after gaining this short term experience in Australia.

APPLICATIONS
The medical board Assessment Application form is available on either the AMC or State/Territory Medical Board websites.  A completed College SST Application Form with payment must be submitted with the relevant Medical Board Assessment Application form and documentation to Specialist IMG Education, RANZCP (address on application form).  The application is then assessed by a local Branch Training Committee (BTC), and a recommendation made to the College, after which the Committee for Specialist IMG Education will release the endorsed Medical Board Assessment Application form to the Medical Board.
